Education and Skills

I am mostly a self taugh person but after leaving the high school I have been attending to classes sometimes.

My University Experience:

To be universitarian was a young dream. In Tenerife, I did some subjects of BA of Philosophy and BA of Sociology at Universidad de La Laguna, and after I have tried to continue in the UNED (Spain Open University), in Barcelona I have started the BA in Humanities at UOC (Catalunya Open University)... and I had resist only three months... After many years I realize that it is not my mood to study in a traditional way. At the end like Bartleby the Scrivener's: I would prefer not to.

Artistic studies and other courses

Maybe the most relevant is that I have started (and as usual not ended) a degree in photography at Fernando Estévez Arts School in Tenerife (Canary Islands), beside that I have been in many short courses, workshops and conferences. From Plato philosophy to vegetarian cooking I am interested in almost everything.

Some conferences and events that I have been: FOWD London, Blogak 2.0, Copyfight, Offf, Sonar, Arco

Workshops: Graphic Design workshop & The narrator's transformation into the XX century novel both at UIMP. Communication prospects in the face of the near millenium at La Laguna University.

WebDesign Philosophy and Skills

My objective is to design Web sites that are both useful and easy to use. Web sites that focus on usability: which help the user to find information and products quickly. Never allow my desire for great art to overwhelm the need for good function.

I hand coding perfectly in HTML and CSS, I have a thing with Content Management Systems and I am understand javascript and AJAX enough to get advantage of it to include it potentials in the webs that I am creating.

I’m also a follower of Web Standards.

About Web Standards: I believe that technologies should be regulated but not limited. In other words, to a certain extent, compatibility is (or at least should be) a requirement. Extended features of particular technologies, however, are (and should be) features exclusively. Those features should only become standardized if they are practical. I am dedicated to writing standardized code that adheres to the W3C’s specifications. (The W3C is the organization that regulates and standardizes the technologies of the Web.) In addition, my "philosophy" implies obedience to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, also presented by the W3C. By following these standardizations, I can assert that my webs sites are accessible. By definition, an accessible web site’s content is available regardless of the device accessing it. This means that my sites will work cross-browser and cross-platform (that is, assuming every device is also abiding by the W3C standards in its interpretation of the code I write, and most often this is the case). This is what makes standardization such a powerful tool in the information resource that is the Internet.
